Marriage

"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."

Wedding Requirements

Engaged couples must be active registered active members for more than 6 (six) months by turning in envelopes weekly basis. The information below outlines the process to receive the sacrament of Marriage in the Catholic Church. Please note that some couples maybe require more documentation.
 

Documents

The following Documents must be turned in with Lorena at least six (6) months prior to the wedding date.

• A current Baptismal certificate no older than six (6) months from the day you turn them in for both.
• Certificate of the Sacrament of Confirmation for both.
• Certificate of First Communion for both.
• Marriage license or copy of Civil Marriage (please speak with Lorena before acquiring the license).
• If you’ve been married previously you must present the divorce decree and a copy of your marriage certificate.
• Copy of your sponsor couple’s Catholic marriage certificate.

Retreats and other requirements

• Retreat or course offered by the diocese for engaged or couples that already live together. Please visit the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth website to register www.fwdioc.org

• Couples not living together: Pre-Cana
• Couples that are already living together: Today, Tomorrow and Forever
• Fully Engaged must be completed six (6) weeks prior to the wedding date.
• Natural Family Planning- Please contact the parish office for dates. Course can also be taken online.
• First interview with the priest will be done three (3) months prior to the wedding date. Each one must bring two (2) witnesses for this interview (total of 4). Witnesses must be over 21 years of age and must know the individual since adolescence or more than 10 years.

Cost

• $150 deposit (non-refundable) does not ensure that the wedding will be held. You must meet the following requirements outlined above before the wedding can be celebrated.
• Final payment must be made three (3) months prior to the wedding date.
• Church rehearsal will generally happen a month before the wedding date.
• The couple is in charge of hiring a choir and decorating the church. *Please call the office once you have found a choir.
